Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the United States, and most of the related occupations require workers to have skills that meet the needs of rapidly changing healthcare environments. HealthCARE Montana is a partnership between the Montana Department of Labor and Industry and many of Montana’s two-year colleges. The partnership builds pathways to training programs that will meet the current and future needs of organizations in one of Montana’s key economic sectors—healthcare. Want to get started in an exciting, in-demand career in healthcare? Western Montana AHEC added two staff members, in 2015, to 1) implement strategic planning and evaluation to expand training and apprecticeship opportunities and 2) assist students in accessing training and education.
Western Montana Career Coach: Emily Simpson
Healthcare Career Coaches have been hired in every region across the state to find and recruit students interested in taking the first step toward a more profitable future in a healthcare career. The coaches will focus on helping students choose the training and education that best aligns with their work-related goals, and will then work in concert with the Healthcare Transformation Specialist at the appropriate campus to help identify and coordinate financial aid and remedial learning programs, as well as support services related to family, work and education balance.
Western Montana Workforce Coordinator, Carly Holman
